Description
Mario Kart 64 is the sequel to Super Mario Kart. A 2.5D kart racer (It's not full 3D).
It features extreme Rubberband AI and unfortunately did not age very well. Even with custom tracks being included now, the games core remains a hassle.
It's less popular than a lot of other Mario Kart titles, like Double Dash, Wii, DS, 7, and 8DX.
A PC port was completed in June 2025, and in conjunction a Dreamcast port is also in the works! Making it the 1st confirmed N64 game to reach the SEGA console, which is highly unusual, but it doesn't affect this games standing. So now you have methods to play this game without issues, no need for Emulation anymore unless you use Macs or Androids or even Linux. But it's a step in the right direction to fixing the horrible AI, but that's still in the possibility list. But with the Dreamcast now involved, it could lead to yet more games reaching the console, which could be rather interesting for general preservation.
This soundtrack is pretty good despite the butchered AI. So it's nice to listen to, and it's rather small in size too.

Actually, a mistake was made on the tracklist and audio for this gamerip: the 16th track AKA Winning Results (with Secret) is the exact same as the 15th track which is Winning Results. Here's the proof: at approx. 1:38 in Winning Results (with Secret), there is actually supposed to be a totally unique melody introduced for the first time, but in this gamerip, Winning Results (With Secret) has the same rhythmic break at 1:38 and subsequential pause of the melody as Winning Results does. Sort of an unbiased opinion onto why you should lower something down due to it being out of order, but alas. I can't change that.
Besides, this game (and its soundtrack) is one of my favorites and I still go back to it today. The 3 Raceways, Wario Stadium song is memorable, the Moo Moo Farm and Yoshi Valley song is great, and don't get me started on Rainbow Road. I'd give this track an 8.3/10. The reason I didn't give it a 10/10 was because the song order is out of order and that bugs me.

Speaking Of Which, I Haven't Played This Game In About 7-8 Months Because My Copy Is Still In The Storage Unit Which Is About 8 Miles To Get There. This Game Is Way Better Than Super Mario Kart Ever Was (The Game Isn't Bad But It's The Least Best Of The Mario Kart Games I've Played). The Courses.Are More Fun, 2 Player Mode Fun To Lose Freinds Over, & If I Remember Correctly The Blue Shell Was Introduced Into This Destroying Many Friendships Across The World... Soundtrack:8.6/10. 9.3/10.
