I played the PC port version on my school Chromebook lol. My first time beating and 100%ing the game.
Your school must've been rich. The school Chromebook I used to have could barely run a NES emulator.

I've played this for the first time on the n64 switch subscription and the controls/physics are done so well. I cannot believe the game was made in 1996 and was Mario's FIRST 3d outing, because this game felt like it was created from levels of experience with 3d platformers. Nothing can replicate the magic of this game, and this is coming from someone who's first 3d Mario game was odyssey.

That's kinda because this game was the birth of 3D gaming as we know it now. Before it, 3D games just worked with tank controls or something similar.

A Pinnacle of every game on 64 ever!
I think the soundtrack is pretty hit or miss (for every Coconut Mall, there are generic tracks like Rainbow Road), and I found the game to be pretty unbalanced and unsatisfying. It feels like you never get punished for being bad at the game, but will get pushed from first to last just because you got a double blue shell, red shell, star, and bullet bill combo. So both, to some extent.
I replayed Mario Kart Wii last year and completed it and unlocked everything. I did it almost problem free, but the game did screw me a few times with my bad luck. I agree with the lack of punishment statement. You can suck horribly at some tracks, but you'll still be get first if you're good enough at the game. The real kicker is if the game feels like letting you win the race or if they feel like ruining your whole run due to some stupid last second blue and red shell combo.

There's only seven theme songs that I like in this game which are Bob-omb Battefield, Dire Dire Docks, Slider, Cool Cool Mountain, Bowsers Road, and the ending theme. Besides those seven tracks, the rest of the soundtrack isn't anything note worthy to me.

To be fair this game has some of the most iconic tunes to come from the 5th generation, let any joe shmoe on the street listen to it and they'll likely know it's Mario 64 music. I personally never considered Mario to have one of the best video game soundtracks out there as it's not 100% my taste but they're nice to listen to in the background, especially this one in my opinion. Also I really like the more atmospheric and sinister tracks like Jolly Roger Bay, Hazy Maze Cave, and the Bowser stages.

Did you play the Gameboy original or the 3DS Game?
Game Boy. I still need to get my hands on the 3DS remake someday. The original GB Return Of Samus does suffer from some jank but I still consider it a decent follow up overall and does add some improvements to the core gameplay like adding health and missile reload spots but I just find the original Metroid more fun to replay and the more open level design in that one.
Yeah... I've played a ton of games in my life and lately I've been getting into the Ratchet & Clank PS2 trilogy and the Sam & Max games, they're great fun and hilarious too. I don't have a newer gen system because I really don't like a lot of modern AAA games these days, most of them don't appeal to me and feel so devoid of fun, creativity, and innovation. Especially these days where everyone is nickle and diming with stuff like battlepasses, lootboxes, and DLC; I just want a fun game man. I just stick to indie games or older games from 1980s to early 2010s.
It's sad how sort of niche the series is compared to most of Nintendo's franchises like Mario, Zelda, and Kirby. But considering there's been many indie Metroid-likes these past years, I guess people are starting to appreciate them more and honestly they were sort of ahead of their time when you really think about it. I really got into Metroid a few years ago and I've played through a good amount of the series. Metroid, Return Of Samus, Super, Fusion, Dread, and recently Prime 1. If I were to rank them it would be Super followed by Prime, then Fusion, Dread, Metroid, and Return Of Samus.

However, I've never gotten around to it because there was always another game that I decided I wanted to buy instead. Even when the Wii U shop was open, I didn't bother buying a Metroid game because there were other games I wanted to play like Super Mario 64, Super Punch Out, Super Ghouls n' Ghosts, both Nintendo 64 Zelda games, and Super Mario Bros 2 (the Famicom game that's known as the Lost Levels in the U.S.). I also gave another franchise that same treatment where I would put it off for a while and or never play it. That other franchise is Final Fantasy, but recently, I gave it a shot again and this time I actually finished one game of that series and the very first game I beat in that franchise was Final Fantasy IX (which is one of my all time favorite games). The next game I plan to play is a toss up between Final Fantasy V (pixel remaster), Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, or Final Fantasy III (pixel remaster). So, maybe, I'll eventually give Metroid the same treatment.
P.S. I forgot Undertale was a game let alone that it apparently has a sequel:l
For me, one of the series I've been meaning to try out is Pikmin. It seems fun, but I haven't gotten around to playing any of the games for the same reason. There's other games I also want to buy like Ghost Trick, Apollo Justice Trilogy, Penny's Big Breakaway, Another Code, and of course, the Paper Mario TTYD remake. I also need to finish my playthrough of the OG TTYD, play Mario vs. Donkey Kong, and play Mario RPG.
Mario is peak. Then again, my gaming tastes consist of: Mario, Sonic, Metroid... uh, Undertale & Deltarune... Ace Attorney, and that's about it. And you could easily call me a Nintendo fanboy since I literally don't play on PlayStation or Xbox anymore. Still don't have a reason to get a PS5 lol.

I mean, I'd say Sonic music is better but nah, Mario music still goes hard, especially the 3D games and spin-offs. Galaxy, 3D World, Odyssey, Mario Kart, Mario Party, the RPGs, etc.

Those were the best ones. I also loved the one where you had to separate the black and red Bob-Obs from each other.
That one was awesome. I also liked the card matching game with Luigi in the casino.
My favorite minigames as a kid was the one where you launch Spinies at parachuting Bomb-Ombs and the trampolining one with the Marios.

I played the DS version first, but I only played the mini games which were really fun. As for the main game, I didn't get very far in the DS version because I sucked at video games as a kid. Two years ago, I finally played the original version and I completed it with 120 stars (I played the game off the Wii U because it was still open at that time).

Every time I try to play this game I play it for 5 seconds and then throw up because of the choppy controls.
Mario 64's camera controls aren't that bad. It works although it takes time to get use to. The one thing I hate about it is that the camera can sometimes block the power star your trying to get, a narrow platform, etc. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it really gets on my nerves.

Why are people arguing?
To me, Super Mario 64 is a great game with some massive flaws like the camera, the 100 coin missions, Mario's odd control, etc. This is coming from someone who hasn't played the game since earlier this year in April. I've played it back when it was only a few years old (Pacifically the DS version). When I played it then, I didn't like it very much and I decided to only play it just because of the mini games. When I finally gave the game a shot, I thought it was great, but it's not as great as everyone says it is. I do agree with you on the graphics for the game because a handful of the textures look really bad. Also, I completely agree with you on the Nintendo 64 because I think it's a pretty mediocre console compared to the NES, SNES, and the Wii.

He was too slippery and it was hard to move around with him without making mistakes. And the wing cap. To put it shortly, F*CK the wing cap. It controls like phooey. And the camera controls, the game's revolutionary mechanic was restricted for basically the whole game. Most of the levels are pretty ugly too. Now, going into the game and playing Bomb Omb Battlefield for your first time is great. The level looks great. But playing almost any other level in the game looks like garbage. It sometimes feels like they were just stock images and random textures slapped everywhere. Especially the Bowser stages. Not only this but the amount of annoying gimmicks in each stage make everyone of them feel like a terrible super mario maker level. It also makes them super annoying to play. Most of the levels have jutting out straight ledges that look terrible even for the time. Overall I give this game a 2/10, it's not very good and can be extremely frustrating because of the way the game is designed. Much like the N64 its self, it's very overrated.
But that doesn't mean your wasting your time playing it. If you ask me, no matter how terrible a game is, if you enjoyed playing it, you didn't waste your time.
To me, Super Mario 64 is a great game with some massive flaws like the camera, the 100 coin missions, Mario's odd control, etc. This is coming from someone who hasn't played the game since earlier this year in April. I've played it back when it was only a few years old (Pacifically the DS version). When I played it then, I didn't like it very much and I decided to only play it just because of the mini games. When I finally gave the game a shot, I thought it was great, but it's not as great as everyone says it is. I do agree with you on the graphics for the game because a handful of the textures look really bad. Also, I completely agree with you on the Nintendo 64 because I think it's a pretty mediocre console compared to the NES, SNES, and the Wii.

Super Mario 64's soundtrack is great! My favorites are Bob Omb Battefield, Dire Dire Docks, Slider, Cool Cool Mountain, Bowsers Road, and the ending theme. The game itself is a great time with some flaws. Such as the power ups which aren't very useful and you only use them a few times. The only power up I hate is the wing cap. I hate it because the control is awful and it's really f*cking hard to get red coins. The other caps like the metal cap and the invisible cap aren't very helpful and you hardly get to use them. The other problem I have with the game is the camera control. I know this game came out during the beginning of the 3D age of gaming, but the camera control is horrible (Unfortunately, games today are almost always 3D). Sometimes the camera will be blocked by the map or it will be in the other direction which blocks the platforms you need to see in order to get a power star. Speaking of those, you get power stars throughout the Castle by jumping into pictures and finding the power star in order to get further in the Castle to save Princess Peach for the one millionth time. Each picture has six stars (one hidden star which is the 100 coin stars). The 100 power star missions suck because the coins are too far apart from each other, most of the maps are too large, and the coins are very damn scarce. When you get the 100th coin, a power star will appear whenever you are onto of your head. Sometimes that can screw you over depending on your position, but most of the time, I don't have a problem with it. Most of the power stars are fun to get with fun enemies and level design. Some of them are Annoying like Tic Tok Clock which is a real pain because of the damn camera. By the way, you only need 70 stars in order to beat the game. There are 120 stars in the game and after you beat the game, you meet Yoshi on top of the Castle who gives you 100 hundred lives and a sparkly triple jump. Overall, Super Mario 64 is a great game with some flaws.

By the way, it took me two weeks to complete the game because I was busy working on My YouTube videos.

Yeah online emulators are good but I recommend downloading Project64 as it runs really well, there are many websites where you can get ROMs for old video games but I personally recommend https://vimm.net/ - Vimm.net as it's really good and virus free. Although ROMs made for any consoles after N64 take way longer to download then it should.
