I will keep it in mind if I should update this release again but this would either way mean that I would have to look up my documentations and see that I am able to re-do my remastering process without it sounding out of line with the other tracks.


Well, to be honest I do not have the original raw loops anymore and would have to make these from scratch to fix the loop points so you could make extended loops which is sadly something I do not see me doing. Back when I made this, I simply decided that I would prefer the tracks to not loop which also keeps the playtime down since with looping they are easily 5 hours or so and its difficult to listen such long releases in a single listening session, which is something I like to do. And likewise I also decided to make some tracks fade out before the loop. Mostly I did make the fade outs after the loop points but sometimes that did sound less good to me than making them fade out before. Its a mixed case with this release here.

If I would redo this release nowadays, I would probably even change some endings into definitive ones like on my more recent SC-55 releases, Shakedown Hawaii or Silent Hill 1-3, even if its more difficult with pre-rendered audio. Bit of a shame we never got official soundtracks for DKCR and DKCTF, especially the later one which is an absolutely jam from beginning to end and created by David Wise. But thats Nintendo for you. Rarely releasing any soundtracks and if they do, you have some lazily made lossy AAC streaming versions. Sigh...

I might look into it for you or rather look up what presets I used for remastering the audio and then just rendering out raw loops for you or generally sending you the configs for Cleaning Lab and Unchirp so you could render out the missing parts yourself and stitch them together. If you are interested that is. Dont know how proficient you are with these programs and VSTs or if you only use Audacity. Might take a while though, since I sadly do not have that much time currently.

I appreciate the response! I understand; I'm used to having two loops play out with the video game songs I've been listening to for most of my life, and that's generally what I prefer, since I'm almost always listening to a playlist on shuffle and it helps make shorter songs feel more substantial; I also understand trying to finetune the timing of fadeouts, since I've prepped some other VGM uploads for my music playlist and have been picky about trying to figure out where to have the fadeout begin (I always use Audacity's fade out tool twice so that the song is essentially quiet by the time it actually ends, since I don't like it much when loops sound cut off). I only have experience with Audacity under my belt, I'm afraid, so I don't know if I could get well-versed with the technical aspects of the remastering programs you used. Maybe we'll get lucky and whatever versions end up on Nintendo Music will be higher-quality, as I've heard they've been for some other soundtracks on the service, but I don't know if any of the app versions of soundtracks have been sourced and provided elsewhere; it's not that big of a deal to me because I'm used to listening off of YouTube where the quality isn't as good anyways. For now, I'm content to just work with the other version of Tropical Freeze's soundtrack on KHInsider for anything where I couldn't get your remastered version to loop, but I appreciate the offer!

Secret Temple 1 has a proper ending if looping is disabled, and I'd like to see it included here.

I really appreciate the work that's been done with this version of the soundtrack - it sounds noticeably more crisp! I have been taking a stab at extending most of the songs for personal use, though, and so far I've found that Big Top Bop fades out too early to get a proper loop, as the electric guitar sounds different for the final bit of the song (after the 4 minute mark) before it actually repeats. I'd appreciate it if that could be touched up.

Edit: Cannon Canyon is in a similar boat, where the percussion as it starts to fade out means it doesn't match up with any point earlier in the song. And Harvest Hazards and Volcano Dome fade out right before the song actually loops, unlike the underwater variant of Harvest Hazards, which is workable. Jammin' Jams is like this as well, while Jelly Jamboree and Forest Folly begin to fade out while delay from the final section overlaps with the start of the next loop. Punch Bowl also has some extra instrumentation as it starts to fade that prevents it from being looped.

Came back to comment because I just realized "Irate Eight" has the intense version of the song in it, which the other gamerip is missing completely. I can't say how much this made me day when it suddenly hit me while playing Symphony.
