Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door is the 2nd AND 7th game in the Paper Mario Franchise. It's a known fan favorite and the GCN version was preferred for Speedrunners. It is an RPG game at it's core.

The original was released in 2004 (You know it as shown above), and it was remade in 2024 for the Switch. Strangely it was the preferred choice for a remake due to how much the game is loved by the community.

It is still playable thanks to the Switch, but the original has seen a bit of Modding, like a Randomizer/Shufflizer & a Hard Mode.

As we entered the Age of Decompilation. This game is a known candidate for porting to Windows, but hasn't been done yet.

Whichever version you play, this is one of the best RPGs by Nintendo, and likely will remain at the very top of people's lists.

I remember years ago playing this on Dolphin emulator on my dad's PC... I got to the final boss... and never beat the game 😭😭😭. And I don't have my save file anymore since it was on my dad's PC and it doesn't have Dolphin anymore! I hate it so much. Game is still a masterpiece.
Not sure why some people here are saying that the first game's OST is better. Like, the first game had some bangers but a fourth of that OST was... ok at best? This soundtrack is more memorable.
Some of my favorites: Rougeport, Battle Theme, X-Naut Fortress, Excess Express at Dusk, Petal Meadows, etc.

Edit: TTYD Remake. Can't wait to beat this game finally.
Edit: Nah, I got a copy of the original in Christmas 2023. We beating the game with this one. 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥 Except school refuses to give me free time, I swear. I have problems with concentrating on school work but come on! I simply get too much homework.

I don't think that Paper Mario TTYD is really that great. Honestly, I don't think I would enjoy it that much, and I just don't like my RPGs seasoned the way TTYD is. I know, it's really judging a book by it's cover, and I certainly don't think the plot or soundtrack is bad, it's just that I prefer my RPGs more like Paper Mario Origami King, or Color Splash, or dare I say... "Sticker Star". Point is, TTYD is a game I don't plan on playing anytime soon.

Honestly, this album almost makes me tear up. I just love this game so much and all the songs are just so catchy and of course very nostalgic. Bless the people who make these tracks, and also bless you for uploading them :')
