Oh and one more thing, the file select theme doesn't sound right because when the second version fades in it plays overlayered onto the first version even though that isn't how it is ingame. This is also the case for NSMBW, which has 4 versions that all play over each other instead of fading into one at a time. I think NSMB2 is fine tho. Also it would be nice to get each menu theme by themselves in the new disc too. But sorry if I'm asking for too much lol

Thanks, could you also add the world map version of the star theme to this new disc? It's listed as a sound effect in the game but I think it's worth adding. I believe it also used to be a part of NSMBW too before you updated it

I think what they're saying is, instead of replacing the seperate tracks with ones included with the song, you should have both. The layers being seperate was pretty helpful for people who wanted that seperate layer, and the layers being combined is helpful for people who want to listen to that version of the song. Instead of removing something that some people liked and replacing it with something more people will like, just have both.

Edit: You could have all of the seperate layers be at the very end of the album, like other similar soundtracks such as SM3DW and BotW do
Edit 2: By the way thank you for making the changes in the first place, I know how hard it is to make and I was hoping someone would make versions of the tracks with the layers combined.

Tons of people use them for remixes and other things. Most other Mario games on here have separated stems uploaded when possible anyway, and the NSMB games used to be no exception. Go to 3D World + Bowser's Fury for example. All of the beep block skyway layers were uploaded separately. Can you normally hear that in-game? You're joking right? If not, it took a lot of effort to mix those separate layers into the respective level themes.

No worries, I'm glad to help! I had already done an edit of NSMBU before to match the Nintendo Music version, but it was missing stuff. The Baby Yoshi variations also had some very slight clipping. I revisited it to add in the missing pieces, fix the clipping, and update the sequencing/tagging slightly before uploading.

This album was updated on 25th of April, 2026.

Change Log:
Updated track titles and sequencing to roughly match the official release on Nintendo Music.

All layer tracks now play with the level themes, as opposed to being presented separately.

Composers and arrangers are properly credited, where possible.
