Retired pro baseball pitcher turned TV pundit Suguru Igawa is a wanted man on the run. Law enforcement wrongly suspected him of responsibility in a murder case, now Igawa has to roam the streets to investigate the case himself to clear his name and convince the pro league to let him come back to pro baseball.
Playing as Igawa in this overhead adventure game, you start out in Yokohama receiving a phone call from your wife reminding you to pick up your card. This card enables you to withdraw money from a bank to spend throughout the game. Igawa cannot earn money while on the run so the amount in your bank account is your budget for the entire game. Exhausting it can soft lock you from finishing. You can only roam the streets for as long as you have Life Points (LP) which starts at 99 and gradually decreases as you walk. If you run out of LP, you reset back to your home in Yokohama. Police officers on patrol and stationed at their posts will chase after you on sight. When they do catch up to you, you are put into a shoot 'em up minigame where police officers run down from the top throwing batons at you. Getting hit here will damage your LP. Running out of LP during this minigame will make you lose the cash you have on hand and reset you to your home.
In order to recover LP, you can either rest at your home for free but requires traveling long distance to Yokohama if you're in a different city, rest at an inn which costs money and fully recover LP, or eat at a restaurant for less money and partially recover LP. To save LP while traveling, you can instead drive a car around the city which consumes gasoline (which in turn costs money) instead of LP. Police officers patrolling on foot will not chase you while you're in a car, but police cars will. Car or train is required to travel to another city.
Throughout the game, you will also engage in several mini games like 100m sprint and ball throwing as parts of recovering from pro baseball retirement. At the end of the game, you will also play a short baseball game where you try to strike out the batter. The game ends regardless of whether you can strike him out or he scores a homerun.
