I think buying a old copy instead of emulating or pirating is justified, but like I said, some people aren't gonna afford an old 3DS game for 100+ dollars so ofc they would rather download a rom and mod it on their system. It's their choice if they want to spend their money or not. Especially since the roms are there for free. They're old games that aren't being made or sold for new anymore.

Installing cfw specifically so you can get games is a valid reason to do so since you can't really get 3ds games anywhere else

Yeah lucky I got Tomodachi Lifetime earlier when it was cheep since I’m trying to complete the full set, but still I see no excuses in prices because if you really wanted those games you should buy them because the roms that emulate games is technically stealing unless you purchased the game and make it a rom.

Personally as someone whos getting themselves a New 2DS XL sometime for modding purposes, I like to keep my og consoles pure. I have two Wiis, one is my old primary unmodded one and the other is modded with homebrew, Project M, and some Wiiware. My old 3DS XL is still holding up after more than a decade and I have a ton of games physically and things I bought off the eShop on it. There is still some games I want or games I missed out on when they were on the eShop like the 3DS Kirby subgame spinoffs and the Dillon games, as well as a few DSiWare I didn't get. Also a few 3DS games in general have gone up in price so much it's not even funny, like look at the Pokemon games on 3DS, and especially Tomodachi Life so I don't blame people who can't afford some of the games and rather just download the roms.

Honestly getting MkDS soon and i have the knowledge for knowing that the 3ds is only backwards compatibility with DS games which doesn't use the GBA slot but thanks for the reminder. Also have Pokemon Sun.
