I think the audio is too loud...

If it's higher than -0.2db on its peaks, then, yeah, otherwise it's fine as long as it's not compressed, it's the job of whoever is playing it to make sure it's not too loud, because we would run in the opposite problem of it being too quiet (which most N64 games are guilty of, I'm having to raise the volume to 2.0 on the USFs.)
I think the original soundtrack of Perfect Dark is the golden standard of the loudness N64 games should play at, if it doesn't reach it, it's not loud enough.

This album was updated on 3rd of December, 2025.

Change Log:
- Fixed the issue where it would play for a split second (or shorter) at the end at its normal volume instead of its original fading out.
(Re-converted with foobar2000 using LazyUSF)

I should probably reupload this (again), I think the audio is too loud... But I don't know if I should, it's not close to even being at its full normalization... It's probably my volume.

This and Kirby Super Star Ultra is probably where my love for video game music started. It's been over four years since then. Time really does fly. I like to periodically come back to Kirby music because it's really that good.

The current files all have a split second right at the end where the volume abruptly peaks.

I'd assume it's an issue with ZXTune's USF player, which I think uses 64th Note or LazyUSF. I'll look into this! Thanks for letting me know!

This album was updated on 28th of November, 2025.

Change Log:
- Replaced the soundtrack with a 48 kHz version instead of 192 kHz. This helps reduce the file size.
(No audible quality loss — the difference is indistinguishable.)

Someone’s going to upload the old one again over this one.
I will upload this again later, but I actually want to make an adjustment, first.
I would get the adjusted version.

Hmm! This wasn’t meant to replace an existing upload, but to just add another version (this is in HD).
Well, enjoy the OST in HD anyway!

I would say this is sad, but I can probably combine the HD and the old one together in seperate CDs since I have the old one.

Donkey Kong 64, Knuckles' Chaotix, Wario: Master of Disguise, Crash Bandicoot TWoC, Silver Surfer NES...
So many bad (or at least flawed) games have amazing soundtracks, and I have no clue why!

You forgot Sonic Adventure 2.

Edit: Changed my mind. Game is actually good, it's just that I didn't enjoy it the first time and Eternal Engine made me quit. That level still sucked after playing it a second time though.

that's ok, its just that when you compare KSA and KatFL we know which one is better for singleplayer and which one is better for multiplayer.

thats not nessisarily true. zelda skyward sword has a consistatly phenominal soundtrack but 90% of the gameplay is fetch quests in the same 3 segmented areas.
dungeons: possibly the best designed compact puzzles in the series. 10/10
story: pretty great for a zelda game 8/10
characters: all memorable. 10/10
bosses: mostly fantastic. tentalus was the only bad one, though the build up to it was amazing. 9/10
music: 10/10 no question.
overworld: 1/10. props to them for good flying mechanics, but literally all you do is fetch quests. tad tones? fetch quest. find the kikwis? fetch quest. all those orb collecting sections? all fetch quests. get water from the back of a dungeon you already finished but now need to go through again for some reason? fetch quest. the only notable moments in the overworld was the time travel seed of life at the end of the game as well as the minecart ride. other than that, literally 90% of the game is some variation on a fetch quest.

so with that, i have to disagree with you, friend.
