cyberseraph: Anyone play FFX2? In One part once you get a search sphere thing, you hold down circle, and a small bar comes up on the bottom. You have to search the ground while holding circle, and when it goes all the way up to red, there is something their. Perhaps it will be similar to that, when you hold down a button (or a reaction command), your drive bar will go to zero and rise when you get near to a crown). It could be a Yuna, Rikku, Paine minigame, due to the trease part of it as well...
