Description:
WebTV was a series of set-top boxes released in the late 90s to bring the Internet -- or rather, the Internet in its infancy -- to people's TVs.

There were two more boxes, the MSN TV and MSN TV 2, but the soundtracks for those aren't here because they would be considered sequels. ;)

On the "Dialing Philips-Magnavox Web TV": This version of Dialing WebTV could only be experienced on Philips-Magnavox models. This happens since the Philips-Magnavox models use a different Beatnik (the audio engine WebTVs rely on) patch set than what the songs were encoded to play with initially. Sony and a few other manufacturers' boxes would switch patches after the loading screen, but Philips-Magnavox models do not, or at least that's what I think.

(The sound you hear at the beginning of the Philips-Magnavox song is the box starting up.)
