I love how in a few tracks, they (tried to) put in DPCM bass samples like what Sunsoft did with most of its later NES games.

I noticed that, too. And I might as well wonder: just how would any bass instruments Konami sampled for use in its SNES games sound in DPCM quality, anyway? Would they really sound good enough to use on the NES (if it had a second DPCM channel)?
