Description:
Description:
Super Bomberman was released for the Super NES system in 1993, and is the first in the Bomberman series to be released in Europe while retaining the Bomberman title (instead of being called Dynablaster). The game also introduces many notable power-ups, especially the Power Glove and Boxing Glove.

Super Bomberman features two gamemodes: Normal Game and Battle Mode.

In Normal Game, the player must destroy all enemies in each level within 6 themed worlds (each having 8 stages, with the last one holding a boss fight). This can be done by placing bombs, which will explode after 3 seconds, blowing up Soft Blocks and any enemies (including the player) that are within the direction and power of the blast. Destroying Soft Blocks will reveal power-ups (e.g. Extra Bombs, More Bomb Fire, the ability to push Bombs, etc.) which can help the player destroy more enemies faster and easier. Once all enemies have been destroyed, the Player then must uncover the exit and use it to advance to the next level. All levels in Normal Game include time limits, and failing to complete a level within a certain time limit with result in the player losing a live. If the player has no lives remaining upon dying, the game will end. Up to two players can play at the same time in Normal Game.

In Battle Mode, up to 4 players can play at the same time using the Super NES Multitap (with the fifth controller serving no significant purpose). Every player's bomb power is increased by 1, which can help blast more Soft Blocks to uncover more power-ups. Time limits are also assigned, with the maze borders shrinking with falling blocks when only 1 minute remains. The last player standing will receive a "win", and the first player to earn a certain amount of wins is declared the winner.

Many sequels followed the original Super Bomberman game, including Super Bomberman 2, Super Bomberman 3, Super Bomberman 4, Super Bomberman 5, Super Bomberman R (Online), and Super Bomberman R 2.
