Description: | Description: SSX: On Tour is the 4th entry in the "SSX" (Snowboard Supercross) series of snowboarding games published by EA Games under their "EA Sports BIG" series. Primarily released on October 11th, 2005 (NA) & October 21st, 2005 (EU) on the XBox, the PlayStation 2 & the GameCube; a port for the PlayStation Portable was released October 11th, 2005 (NA) & October 28th, 2005 (EU). The gameplay in On Tour is similar to that of the first three SSX games, with the player racing down pre-determined courses doing events. The main two events are “Shreds” in which the player must complete a task, such as finishing a course in the fastest time, being in the air for a set time (60 seconds, etc.) or getting a high score. The other type of event is a “Medal” event which is just a race to the end of the course in which you must come first to win. Dissimilarly, however, is the introduction of skiing as well as the option to create your own character. This is also the first SSX game to not feature the dynamic music of the first three, instead featuring a short loop before the event starts as well as a separate version of the songs featuring a high or low pass filter applied to the song that the game fades between. Ripped from a PAL PlayStation 2 game disc. All relevant .BIG files extracted with FinalBIG, then converted from .MPF using foobar2000. All "pre-event" tracks have been looped to ~1 minute from around 2-6 seconds |
