Years ago, I heard that this particular album wasn't very good unless you played listened to it while actually playing SSB. All of that is entirely true unless you have any sort of apriciation for how AWSOME MELEE'S ORCHISTRA WAS compared to Brawls (which I also like, but they could have chosen a better recording studio, is all) and that it is a thousand times better played live at this one-time-only venue; then yeah, its a piece of crap in a crap box full of crap in a can. Take that one guy's word for it.

I only like Dr. Mario, original medley, opening, the great medley and rainbow cruise songs in this.

Pretty Ballin', if I say so myself. As with all orchestra music, there are three things to take into account. 1) Is recording, how good of quality the sound itself was at the time of recording. For a live orchestra, I would say it was very well recorded, the sound quality was much better than the average live show. 2) Is the orchestra, how talented they are as a whole. New Japan Philharmonic gets an A in my proverbial gradebook. And finally 3) Would be the music itself, how well was it composed and crafted.I thoroughly enjoy Nintendo's music, but oftentimes when downloading the pure gamerips it has a tendency to be overly simple. Although the basic melody is wonderful, just listening to the synthisizer without more complex undertones can be less than appealing. Solved with reorchestration , in this the melee music is rerefined and recombined to make a masterful piece of art that is a true pleasure to listen to.

I originally got this album as a pack-in freebie as a subscriber to Nintendo Power magazine. Much nicer than a trading card.
