This is a well made album with a nice overarching progression. Track 1 starts off with a strong optimistic sound with a guy talking about how you have to taper your expectations and can't rely on expectations. While much of his words sound like something that would be deep to a 13 year old (really, who decides pi? blah), it does artfully establish the progression of the album. Tracks 1-4 are fairly optimstic, tracks 5-6 gets a bit more tense and then 7-8 crescendo into some nice hard progressive rock where the progression is everywhere that's the strongest part of the album (and hence, the progressive style becomes the unexpected elements that one was forewarned not to believe). This continues into 9-10, with 11-12 then closing the album off on a positive note.

Overall, I'd say not all tracks of this album are impressive (2 + 5 are somewhat slow) but what's good is good and what's real good is real good. Track 8 is especially fantastic, although I wish it stayed hard throughout instead of using softer instruments. Overall though, great listen with nice clearly delineated sections.
