Description

Miner Max is a single player puzzle game.

The game has one hundred levels grouped into sets of ten, the player must clear six of the levels, i.e. collect all the gems, in a set before they can advance to the next set.

The game is similar to a much older game Dig Dug in that the player digs their way through earth to collect gems. In the earth there are all sorts of nasties such as snakes that patrol corridors, skeletons that and rock crabs that not only patrol but can dig through the earth to give chase and ghosts that can travel freely through the earth.
Some levels can only be completed by using dynamite and TNT to clear away rock that's too hard for Max to dig through, there may also be boots that make Max move faster, a pick axe which makes Max dig faster, and a gun to shoot the bad guys

The game has a high score table which does not distinguish between the scores of the different games. When it was released it was possible for players to compete with other players by uploading their scores to an on-line Hall of Fame. In 2015 the site which supported this feature is no longer active.
