Description: Metroid (or メトロイド in the Japanese version) is a 1986 action game made for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Famicom Disc System. The game tells about a female bounty hunter named Samus Aran who has to eliminate all Metroids on Planet Zebes and defeat the Space Pirates. Unlike the International Release we all know, the Japanese Release includes significant changes. One of these is a proper Save System (similar to The Legend Of Zelda), and an altered soundtrack to take advantage of the enhanced sound capabilities of the Famicom Disk System. | Description: Metroid (or メトロイド in the Japanese version) is a 1986 sci-fi action game made for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Famicom Disc System. As the first of the many games in the "Metroidvania" format, the game is pretty simple; you control Samus Aran, THE bounty hunter in the galaxy, as you go through the depths of Zebes and deal with the increasing attack of Space Pirates. Unlike the International Release we all know and mostly love, the Japanese Release of the game includes significant changes. One of these is a proper Save System (similar to The Legend Of Zelda) and an altered soundtrack to take advantage of the enhanced sound capabilities of the Famicom Disk System. |
