Description:
Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble[a] is an action puzzle video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Color handheld video game console. It was released in Japan on August 23, 2000, and in North America on April 9, 2001. Due to the cartridge having a built-in accelerometer, it has a unique shape, as well as a unique transparent pink color in reference to Kirby. The game received its first official re-release on the Nintendo Switch Online service on June 5, 2023. The game begins with Kirby napping on a cloud, when he is awakened as a Waddle Dee walks by, carrying a round pinball-like bumper. He then sees King Dedede, carrying a long bumper. Suspicious of the King's intentions, Kirby hops on a warp star and follows him, determined to find out what he is up to. Soon, Kirby discovers that Dream Land has lost its stars and sets off to get them back.
Description:
Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, an action puzzle game, was Kirby's only game to be produced specifically for the Game Boy Color system. The cartridge has a unique shape accommodating its built-in accelerometer, as well as a unique transparent pink color in reference to its protagonist. The game was not re-released officially until added to the Nintendo Switch Online service in 2023.

The game begins when Kirby, sleeping on a cloud, is awakened by a Waddle Dee and King Dedede walking by, both carrying pinball-like bumpers. Suspicious of Dedede's intentions, Kirby hops on a Warp Star and follows him, determined to find out what he's up to. Soon he discovers that Dream Land has been robbed of its Sparkling Stars, and sets out all across Planet PopStar to get them back from the king and his minions.

Instead of running, hovering and inhaling as in his other games, Kirby rolls around like a marble in a top-down environment and must dodge bottomless pits and anything that would bounce him into them. The accelerometer allows the player to move Kirby around by physically tilting the Game Boy Color, rather than using any of the face buttons.

This was the last Kirby game to be released before the anime, and its development staff includes employees of Nintendo R&D2 who had previously worked on Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. This title was the winner of the 2001 Nintendo Power Award for Most Overlooked Game.
