Description

Bombuzal is a maze-type game where you control the titutal blue creature as he manages to blow up parts of each island in the stages.

There's 2 playfield views, one 2D and the other 3D, Bombuzal can lose a life if he comes contact with any of the explosions or if he escapes the island and goes deep in the sea.

Bombs come in different sizes and it is only possible to ignite the smallest kind without dying. In most cases, the bombs must be set off using a chain reaction to prevent Bombuzal from being killed in the explosion.

The SNES version of the game is notable for being one of the first launch titles for the Super Famicom in Japan, as well for being Kemco's first title for the system.

btw, sorry for the delayed reply, but I did go back and listen to Drakkhen. I love the similar instrumentation to Kablooey in Character Making [3] there and it does have a lot of nice environmental tracks. The album can be a little slow at points but there's a lot of nice ethereal tracks, some of which I nabbed for later. I probably wouldn't rate it as high as Kablooey overall, just because I prefer peppier stuff, but it's got some good merits.

I love Character Making and most of the ethereal tracks. This game is almost like its own genre of music because of how different it sounds from most anything else.

Since you like this a lot, I'm curious about what you think of the soundtrack to Drakkhen on SNES. Both games were ported by Kemco and there is some similarity in the music.

This game just has an amazing sound font and the drums are just great. Note: The first set of music is from the American version, which has a superior soundtrack. I'd ignore the second rendition in Japanese. Overall, 9.5/10. Amazing.
