| Description: | Description: In the years that follow the event of the movie GunHed, Kyron-5 is re-activated, attracting scavenge hunters to return to the island 8JO seeking to retrieve the Texmexium that Kyron-5 runs on, all while clashing with each other in Heavy Eliminate Devices (or HEDs). Acting as a sequel to the movie it's based on, GunHed: Aratanaru Tatakai presents the titular "New Battle" as a turn-based tactic game for 1-4 players. If you select the singleplayer mode (1P), you play a 1v1 match against the AI. If you select 2P, 3P or 4P, you play in a hotseat multiplayer mode where all players are controlled using Controller 1. Your goal in the game is to build up your units through battles with the other scavenger teams before entering the tower at the center of the island to battle the Aerobot. When the game begins, each player has one HED located near their designated landing point, but is able to select the deployment locations of the rest of the fleet anywhere else on the island. Scattered on the island are gray buildings that restore your HED's energy and health. On this tactical map, you can use items such as Napalm (area damage around your HED, destroys deployables in range), M-Sonar (reveals deployables), E-Cutter (energy-draining trap), L-M (land mine), S. Bomb (smoke bomb, protection from long-range missile), Guerrilla (item-stealing trap), ALM (Auto Long-range Missile), V-C (Bind Controller, transfers control of the HED that steps on it to the trap owner), DBG (Device Blocking Jammer, stuns the HED stepping on it for 3 turns). HEDs destroyed by items don't grant experience points, as opposed to direct combat, which is initiated by moving a unit to the same square as an opposing HED. Before any battle, you can set up your HED by redistributing its stats and selecting the control mode. In the Semi mode, you play as the HED's gunner but let the AI control the HED's movement. In the Manual mode, you control both the HED's movement and weapon system. In the Auto mode, you spectate the AI resolve the battle for you. Battles in the game simulate weighty turning by creating a delay when you start pressing a directional button in any direction other than the one your HED is facing. You have 4 standard weapons which are the machine gun with infinite ammunition and Missile, Cannon and C-Gun with finite ammunition. Upon winning a battle, the winner takes all energy, ammunition and items from the loser, unless the loser goes out with a Self-Destruct device, which is a special item that acts as the 5th selectable weapon in battle. |
