| Description: | Description: Description from Bandcamp: "Closer To Home is the new surreal horror exploration game developed singlehandedly by Cayden Bullock. I was honored to be tapped as a collaborator for both the music of the game as well as the sound effects. The challenge was this: I would barely see, let alone play, the game before and during the production of the music. The direction of my own contribution was founded entirely on a blind faith that my aesthetic tastes would line up with Cayden's. This had been put to the test once before in the form of an unfinished webcomic that we started together. Now, however, the project was sure to come to fruition, as Cayden had committed over a year's work to learning how to build a video game entirely from scratch. The attention to visual detail, the esoteric twists and turns of the narrative, and the overall atmosphere of a severely tainted dreamscape are maybe typical of Cayden's work and they informed me in my quest to fill his world with sound. The game is funny and sad, violent and soothing, incomprehensible and genius. The soundtrack seeks to capture these sometimes-contradictory tones which persist throughout. 5 bonus tracks are included with the purchase of the album. These songs did not fit into the end product but were made with the game in mind and therefore belong with the rest of the songs which are so glad to find a home in Cayden's creation." |
