The official soundtrack for my indie game 'CATGIRL' <3

Purchase includes 6 bonus songs exclusive to Bandcamp! (the bonus songs are pretty sweet im ngl)

I made all the songs myself using Ableton Live 10, a MIDI keyboard, some synths, and a couple guitars.

I was inspired by pretty famous game soundtracks like FF7, Chrono Trigger, and Shenmue 1&2.

I was also inspired by modern artists like Windows96, S3RL, and that one annoying dog that makes music.

It was a real challenge studying retro style game music as most of it is just straight up jazz and classical. You basically just need to nail the fundamentals of good music; nothing to hide behind! lmao

I hope that you can all enjoy the game and hear the music in the context it was made for, as I think that adds to the experience. As a standalone album, there are some jarring changes lol.

Overall I'm happy with how it turned out, I think there are some genuinely unique ideas and execution. I love overproducing and adding that modern polish to a retro-genre, it creates some great textures and moments. Ironically the "simpler" tracks were way harder for me! When I can't go crazy chaos mode I have a tough time making something satisfying and good.

Thanks to all my long time fans and hello to my new ones! I hope you find something inspiring here to take into your own music, or simply enjoy bobbing your head to these tunes while doing chores!
