I love this game, and I love this soundtrack. If you haven't played this game yet, this should be the next game to pick up. For those of you who have actually played and beat this game...
Yes, you need to play it all over again.
The original Paper Mario is the defining Mario RPG game as being the newest look (sprite-wise) and take (meaning the RPG factor) on the Mario Universe. SMRPG before it wasn't too good in the way of "unique-ity" or comedy, and the original Paper Mario game superseded SMRPG a million times over.
Along with the comedy, the dialogue, the action, and the gameplay, must come a soundtrack that captures the right feeling and action for any videogame. Paper Mario had a sort of a whimsical, cartoony look to it, so the music accompanying it was light, adventure-fitting, and puts the player as if (s)he has had ample knowledge about the Mario Universe before picking up that game.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (TYD), however, was more pumped up in its sound than the other one. The N64 bitmap, minimally-shaded, oversimplified sprites accompanied simple(r) music, while the GCN vector, vibrant-coloured, shaper-edged sprites walked hand-in-hand with more adrenaline in its blood (thankfully, no blood included!). From the nostalgic theme of Petal Meadows, to the Rawk Hawk Rock, to the theme of the X-Naut Fortress, every track, every song, every sample conveys the right emotion to every theme, to every level, and to every event. Even the polyphonic mixes dealing with the E-mail messages seem exactly fitting, and every tune you hear is catchy and memorable in a good way.
The final word: Play it. Download it. Love it. Master Ridley says so: 10/10. Perfect score. S-Rank. 100%. Whatever scale you use, if you are a true Mario fan, you want this album.
ONE ADDITIONAL COMMENT: The only downfall to this album is that there are SFXs included in each track. Hardly a downfall, though, but if want these tracks for, say, a fangame or a movie, seek elsewhere that track for SFX-less versions of it. There ARE some out there.

The songs in Paper Mario 2 weren't as good as in the original but overall this rip is pretty good. I do feel that their are some uneccesary tracks in here, mainly the really short ones, but otherwise this rip is great. Your better off downloading single tracks so your not stuck with a bunch of these short small tracks. 8/10.
