The Covert Operations is the expansion pack to the best-selling game Command & Conquer.

These six tracks were added exclusively for the Covert Operations missions, and could be found in stereo CD audio quality on the original release of the disk. However, these high quality versions were not used by the game itself.

These audio tracks were added to the CD of the original Command & Conquer expansion "The Covert Operations" when it was first released. They could be accessed by putting the data CD in your CD player and skipping past track #1 which contained the game data. Unfortunately, none of the newer releases of the CD seems to have these CD quality audio tracks.

Of course, the game itself still contains the tracks, but in much lower quality, and mono sound.

These tracks are some of Frank Klepacki's best ambient music ever. Voice Rhythm and Recon have always kept a special place in my heart.

Drone is also a very ambient track. As a comparison, these create similar atmospheres to what you'd get from some of the softer Halo 1 tracks, like "A Walk In The Woods".
(though I know I'm a sucker for soft tracks :p)

The rest are slightly harder, going back to Command & Conquer's excellent electronic/industrial tradition.

Pretty much what the guest said. Recon, Iron Fist, and Voice Rhythm are among the best video game scores ever. Dare I say the music in the Covert Ops expansion to C&C is better then Red Alerts...
