Description

Instead of controlling with the D-pad, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis uses the touch screen to control the Mini-Marios in the same vein as Lemmings. The object of the game is to get the Mini-Marios in each level to the door. The Mini-Marios have no concept of self-preservation, having no problem walking into spikes or lava, and as such the challenge comes from managing multiple moving toys on their way to the goal while avoiding their destruction.

Nobody can fix the Dymanic Options music so each Level Select song can be separately? Wow.

I tried using a Winamp plugin to export the individual sound channels in that song but it's not strictly one instrument part per sound channel like a MIDI. The track is stored in the files as a sequence, similar to a midi with instruments associated with each track that are muted and unmuted depending on where you are in the game, so the audio file on here of the options music is all of those tracks combined. However, how the DS hardware handles playing them is different.

Sorry if I'm explaining this poorly but basically, any sound that comes from any instrument in the song picks the earliest available sound channel starting with 1 and going on until it finds one not being used at the time to output the sound, so sound channel 1 isn't just the notes of one particular instrument but rather constantly switching between various parts based on which other parts are silent at the time. The other channels are the same way but with gradually less and less going on. I'm sure it is possible to figure out how to get it to sound right since the anonymous uploader of Mini-Land Mayhem figured it out for that game, but I personally don't know how to do it.

Using VGMtrans to convert the sequence to a midi and just recreating the song using the samples from the game is a possibility for properly conveying how the song is used in game, but I don't care enough about it to dedicate the hours necessary to learn how to do everything that would go into that.

@grabieltorres I'm sorry if the options theme not being separated properly disappointed you but there's no need to be angry about it.
