Ristar: The Shooting Star (Genesis) (gamerip) (1995)

Guys! How many times do I have to tell people that Ristar was not made by Sonic Team? He was actually made by Sega of Japan!

"Ice Scream" is one of the best winter themes I've ever heard in a video game. So beautifully composed and nostalgic sounding...

Change Log:
Re-rendered Music
Track 26 had an error and was re-ripped
Updated Tags
Clarity fix, etc.

Our boy Ristar survived the Segapocolypce. That’s a good thing, right?

Only proves this masterpiece’s criminal obscurity.
wasn't that a stupid copyright troll? some random youtuber? hope we get sonic back on here someday, i'd be willing to contribute to that

working on re-ripping this for vgmrips, will update. it will match the official ost "MEGA DRIVE LAST ACTION HEROES" way more than the existing rip

This album was updated on 13th of May, 2024.

Change Log:
Complete re-rip.
Updated metadata per OST (WM-0654~6).

As of May 13, this rip provides perhaps the crispiest quality of this OST yet.
At the same time, I do wish it retained elements of previous rips, such as Planet Sonata's tracks being separate, or the version of "Du Di Da" that contained the intro, but ah well.
Still a great rip of an equally great OST.

The boss intro (named "Boss Jingle" per WM-0654~6) is included as it's own track in my set. It was going to be merged with all of "Intension" like in the Official OST, but I was unable to recreate it without error. Looking back at it I'm glad it turned out like that. I used the OOST's version of the Neous/Sonata 1-1 Pre-Song as a basis because I felt there was less repetition than in the original Project2612 VGM set, same goes for having a separate version of "Du-Di-Da" instead of having the jingle alone. I also took a similar approach for the bonus stage theme, merging to tracks like in the OOST. I did however, for both songs, change when the transitions happen to be more on beat (when compared to the OOST).

Ahh, I understand now, thanks for the clarification.
