I remember having this as a kid on my PlayStation 3, but i broke it sadly. Luckily i recently replayed it because of the PlayStation Plus full game trials. Might get it again soon

i think the 4th stem is the final lap stem.

No idea, but you can probably hear it in some gameplay videos. That's how I know for sure at some point all 4 stems play at once at least.
