Lord of Chaos: Hey, people just get cranky because I know more than them. So then they start calling me names... fights get started... a clown cries... it's all very intricately interwoven. At any rate, an orb like that should have easily been escapable, for someone that knew what they were doing. While Zets idea did work for you, since it was unstable light and dark, you could have just completely randomized the molecules of matter around you and slowly filtered them both out completely.
