Phoenix: True, they're fundamentally different, but both are assumed to be true, because they can't be proven false. What the hell? One of the mort important tenets of all scientific theories is falsifiability. It's not a theory unless there's ways to prove it wrong. Religion, same thing, people can't necessarely prove it's entirely false, so some make the logical fallacy that it must be true and they believe in it. You can't prove unicorns false, either.
