Kingdom Hearts is an action RPG while DQ8 is very very old school and turn based. If you really enjoyed the first Kingdom Hearts and you dont really like turn based games that much, then I would say KH2, but if you did not enjoy Kingdom Hearts, and you are interested in turn based games, then go for DQ8!
