If he really isn't sure the best thing to is wait till 2008 and see what system has the best line up.. If he can only get one, he will be missing out great games anyway. 2008 isn't so bad.. The PS2 has a decent line up for this year. So he could wait.

Ichi Teh Killer: Ratchet and Clank games are awesome. Beat the hell out of Jak and Daxter.

R1KU: I noticed, this is the first pokemon game that doesn't FULLY CAPITALIZE THE NAMES. Like Torchic was always "TORCHIC used FLAMETHROWER" Now it's "Pochama used Water Gun" Looks like they learned the rules of grammar xD LOL! i guess. but it'll take some time to get use too.
